I started working in management consulting in 2005. Looking back, it's surprising how many people trusted me, but I also feel fortunate because I was able to establish myself in many diverse and new areas.
On several occasions, at a particular stage, my clients asked me to implement parts of the strategy we had developed over time. They wanted me to bring in a team that could execute the outlined plan on a project basis.
It was then, 19 years ago, that I first thought about how great it would be to build a company with highly qualified SWAT team-like groups available, capable of efficiently working on projects that a company would handle more slowly, with more difficulty, or not at all internally.
Last year, when we bought out the Czech co-owners from Creative Dock Hungary and, as one of the first steps, integrated venture building into the Ipsilon Group founded with my business partner, Csaba Schuck , we began building the corporate group I had once envisioned.
The structure is simple. Each area of expertise is a company partially owned by the Ipsilon Group , which has a professional leader who is also the company's managing director, owner, and usually its founder. These companies operate independently from sales to implementation. Each must stand on its own in the market. However, when entrusted with a complex task, all companies/areas of expertise work together on the assignment.
