The other day, someone asked me why I became an entrepreneur.
I inherited it from my parents.
Alongside their full-time jobs, they bred dogs.
They also grew peppers and radishes in large, steel-framed greenhouses.
On top of that, they did wedding photography.
And they did it beautifully.
Both of them had a remarkable eye for visuals. But looking back now, what fascinates me most is their innovative spirit and business acumen - especially considering this was the ’80s.
During the wedding dinner, one of them would rush home to develop the photos taken so far. At these times, our bathroom transformed into a darkroom. My brother and sister helped out, while I had the simplest job: smoothing the photos at the end of the process with a rubber roller on a heated mirror.
By the time the guests were having cake, my parents were already handing out the photos at the tables. People would write on the back of each one in pencil, noting how many copies they wanted.
And everyone received their orders the next day.
My brother delivered them by bike.
